October 2009

Attention teens, do you ever have a hard time controlling the words coming out of your mouth? Do you ever find yourself judging others even if you don’t mean to? Do you get caught up in gossip? Do you get hung up on trying to acquire worldly possessions? Do you spend too much time comparing yourself to others? Chances are everyone can answer YES to at least one of these questions. The truth is, it is hard to live out your faith every day in the real world. So this month for Wild Wednesday we will be doing a Bible study on the book of James. James was Jesus’ half brother and a leader in the Jerusalem church. He wrote the book of James (5 short chapters) to address the fact that to have real faith there has to be a change of behavior and he gives lots of practical instruction regarding living the Christian life. We will discuss topics such as judging others, taming the tongue, worldly riches, and serving others.

We will still keep the “Wild” in Wild Wednesday with sponge paint wars (be sure to wear old clothes), Deal or No Deal game show, and a surprise field trip. You will not want to miss even one week! We moved Wild Wednesday to start at 6:30pm and we will wrap up each evening by 8:00pm. The Youth House will be open for Hang Out Time from 8:00-9:00pm if you want to stick around for more fun on the Wii or shoot some pool. Don’t forget to invite your friends for a WILD WEDNESDAY!
